Children/Youth Programming

 

Homework Helper:  An after-school program for students of all grade levels.  Tutors from Campfire USA work with students one-to-one and through group session to help improve academic understanding and completion of assignments.  Tutoring is offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 3:30-4:15PM.

 

Fun Science:  This program duplicates that of Liberty Plaza with the Bell Museum and Mad Science MN and pother providers as the educational partners.  Bell Museum introduces students to the wonderful world of life sciences, while Mad Science activities focus on the physical sciences.  Activities are provided Tuesday 5:00-6:00PM.

 

Youth Club:  A program working with those who are pre-teens.  Activities change based upon the ages of the children participating in the group.  All activities are geared to the exploration of the world around us and the exploration of self.  The program is provided through a partnership with Campfire USA.  Activities take place Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 3:30-6:00PM.

 

Teens-in Action:  An after-school teen enrichment program.  Activities center around Campfire’s national curriculum that focuses on the ‘five trails’:  environment, knowing me, family and community, future, and creativity.  Activities also take place Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-6:00PM.

 

Recreation/Recreation:  An ever-changing activity spectrum.  Various recreation activities are provided each week.  These might be an art or craft project, a new-experience activity like learning to walk on stilts, or a movie, creating and putting on a skit, or other creative program.  Recreation activities are provided weekly 5:00-6:00PM and occasionally on weekends. Summer Program:  A variety of summer activities at CR during the CR summer program.  The aim of the summer program is to provide youth enrichment through recreational and educational activities.  These activities include swimming, filed trips, camping, arts, cooking, gardening and other opportunities.  Summer programs are offered in their afternoon block Monday-Friday 1:00-4:00PM.
