Please meet new Program Coordinator, Melissa Laubach; Literacy VISTA Member, Amy Wendland; and AmeriCorps Community Technology Empowerment Project (CTEP) Specialist, Christina Achrazoglou.


Melissa Laubach joined TCHDC in August as the Program Coordinator based at the Liberty Plaza Resource Center. She is responsible for the overall operation of the Liberty Plaza facility and program outreach to other TCHDC housing communities. After graduating from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations, she moved to Baltimore, MD, and worked at the International Rescue Committee (IRC). She moved back to Minnesota in 2014 to do a year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA as a Volunteer and Mentor Coordinator at the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center.

Amy Wendland came to us from Portland, OR, in August to commit to a year of full-time service with TCHDC as our 2015-16 Literacy VISTA Member.  Amy is developing our capacity to recruit, train, and manage volunteer tutors for our new after school literacy and homework tutoring programs, as well as helping to launch these new programs.  She is a graduate of St Olaf College in Northfield with a double major in History and Spanish.

Christina Achrazoglou has also committed to a year of service with us through AmeriCorps as our Community Technology Empowerment Program (CTEP) Specialist.  She is working with teens and young adults to help them secure employment and/or are interested in exploring career paths and options.  She is also providing digital literacy training and certification for adults.  Christina is a graduate of the University of Iowa and is a certified 5-12 science teacher and teacher of Gifted and Talented.
